SQLSQL (pronounced "ess-que-el") stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with a database. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), it is the standard language for relational database management systems. SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as update data on a database, or retrieve data from a database. Some common relational database management systems that use SQL are: Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Ingres, etc. Although most database systems use SQL, most of them also have their own additional proprietary extensions that are usually only used on their system. However, the standard SQL commands such as "Select", "Insert", "Update", "Delete", "Create", and "Drop" can be used to accomplish almost everything that one needs to do with a database. This tutorial will provide you with the instruction on the basics of each of these commands as well as allow you to put them to practice using the SQL Interpreter.
S-R Latch1. IntroductionThe circuits stored information about the previous history of inputs are called storage or memory elements. A primitive storage element can be constructed from a small number of gates connecting the outputs back as inputs. These circuits are binary cells capable of storing one bit of information. They have two outputs, one for the normal value and one for the complement value of bit stored in it. Primitive memory elements actually fall into two board classes: latches and flip-flop.If a latch has only data inputs, it is called an unlocked latch (or only latch). Level-sensitive latches have an additional enable input, sometimes called the clock. Level-sensitive latches continuously sample their inputs when they are enabled. Any change in the level of the input is propagated through to the output. When the enable signal is unasserted, the last value of the inputs is determines the state held by the latch.Flip-flops differ from latches in that their output change only with repeat to the clock, whereas latches change output when their inputs change. Flip-flops are characterized on the basis of the clock transition that causes the output change: there are positive edge-triggered, negative edge-triggered, and master/slave flip-flops. A positive edge-triggered flip-flop samples its inputs on the low-to-high clock transition. A negative edge-triggered flip-flop works in a similar fashion, with the input sampled on the high-to-low clock transition.

PhysicistPhysicist. Born March 14, 1879, in Ulm, Germany. Einstein grew up in Munich, where his father, Hermann, owned a small electrochemical factory. The strict discipline of German schools did not appeal to the young Einstein, who was a poor student but conducted his own studies of philosophy, math, and science. In 1895, after Hermann’s busines failed, the Einstein family moved to Milan, Italy. Albert stayed behind to continue his studies, but soon left school with no diploma to rejoin his family. He continued his independent studies, teaching himself calculus and higher scientific principles. After failing his first entrance examination to the prestigious Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Einstein gained admittance in 1896 and began his four years studying physics and mathematics.

FLUOROPOLYMERSFluoropolymers are a class of polymers derived from partially or fully-fluorinated monomers. They are used in demanding applications requiring resistance to chemicals, weathering, and temperature extremes. Superior electrical and flammability properties give them value in wire and cable appications.Fluoropolymers are either (1) Fully fluorinated derivatives of tetrafluo-roethylene, including polytetrafluo-roethylene (PTFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene(FEP) copolymer, and perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) resins or (2) partially fluorinated resins, including polychlorotrifluoroethylene(PCTFE), ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene(ECTFE) copolymer, ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene(ETFE) copolymer, polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF), tetra-fluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene-vinylidene fluoride(THV) resins, and polyvinylfluoride(PVF).
FEMINISM IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSIn Inernational Relations, gender issues took important place in last years. Before eleborating feminism, we must know the background and basic of it.In last period, gender isues have received incresing attention in many areas of social sciences. The starting point of gender issues in international relations are based on inequalities between men and women. Feminist international relation scholars generally argue that the way many conventional international relation scholars approach the study of world politics discloses gendered thinking.1 So what is feminism?
farmfarm subsidies: a necessary evil? Subsidies are payments, economic concessions, or privileges given by the government to favor businesses or consumers. In the 1930s, subsidies were designed to favor agriculture. John Steinbeck expressed his dislike of the farm subsidy system of the United States in his book, The Grapes of Wrath. In that book, the government gave money to farms so that they would grow and sell a certain amount of crops. As a result, Steinbeck argued, many people starved unnecessarily. Steinbeck examined farm subsidies from a personal level, showing how they hurt the common man. Subsidies have a variety of other problems, both on the micro and macro level, that should not be ignored. Despite their benefits, farm subsidies are an inefficient and dysfunctional part of our economic system. The problems of the American farmer arose in the 1920s, and various methods were introduced to help solve them. The United States still disagrees on how to solve the continuing problem of agricultural overproduction. In 1916, the number of people living on farms was at its maximum at 32,530,000. Most of these farms were relatively small (Reische 51). Technological advances in the 1920's brought a variety of effects. The use of machinery increased productivity while reducing the need for as many farm laborers. The industrial boom of the 1920s drew many workers off the farm and into the cities. Machinery, while increasing productivity, was very expensive. Demand for food, though, stayed relatively constant (Long 85). As a result of this, food prices went down. The small farmer was no longer able to compete, lacking the capital to buy productive machinery. Small farms lost their practicality, and many farmers were forced to consolidate to compete. Fewer, larger farms resulted (Reische 51). During the Depression, unemployment grew while income shrank. "An extended drought had aggravated the farm problem during the 1930s (Reische 52)." Congress, to counter this, passed price support legislation to assure a profit to the farmers.
Every yearEvery year thousands of people die because of lung cancer or other tobacco related illnesses. Everyone in the world comes in contact with smoke from a cigarette at least once in their lifetime, whether it is at a restaurant or at work. Millions of people are addicted to smoking, and thousands more become addicted every year. Cigarettes and other tobacco products are everywhere. Most of the addicted smokers started when they were young (Roberts 18). The reason why people get addicted to any type of tobacco product is because all tobacco products have nicotine in them, which is the addictive ingredient (American Thoracic Society 22). Every time a person smokes a cigarette or chews tobacco, that person ingests nicotine. I believe that the tobacco companies should be liable for every tobacco-related death each year. On the other hand, some people believe that everyone has a right to make their own judgment about their life. My opponent, Rosalind Marimont argues drugs and alcohol are more dangerous to society than tobacco (26). Second hand smoking is not a danger to the health of the community (Marimont 26). There are health benefits for people that do smoke tobacco (Marimont 27). So many people quit smoking each year, it is so ridiculous to think that tobacco products are addicting argues Richard DeGrandpre (39). The facts about tobacco and tobacco products have been shaded by the government and government agencies to make smoking less acceptable and more inconvenient to smokers and tobacco users Sullum argues (55). My opponents firmly believe that there are no risks if a person starts smoking. As you will see, I will show extenuating facts that disprove my opponents views on tobacco products. My opponent states that smoking is not dangerous, however, I intend to prove that smoking is dangerous not just to smokers, but to everyone as well. It is a proven fact that smoking causes lung cancer and heart disease (American Thoracic Society 19). Every person that breathes the smoke of tobacco products is at risk for tobacco-related illnesses.
Every personEvery person has feelings. These feelings are aroused by a catalyst. A touch, a smell, a sight. When a person does art, his or her duty is to titillate the viewer. His or her work must be passionate, captivating and able to be thought about. When an artist renders a piece, be it a painting, water color, sculpture, dance or poem, he or she must inspire the viewer to come back and look at it a second and a third time. The artist must expand his or her mind to engulf others. Octavio Ocampo has accomplished all this and more. Around the world millions of people have become enthralled with his innovative style. People are fascinated by his work. Everyone from the art connoisseur to businessmen and professionals are thrilled by the reactions they get when one of his pieces is on their walls. His works are “conversation pieces” done in a style which has been deemed Metamorphic art. Pictured here is Lupe. Metamorphic art is a new innovative style which blends Dali like surrealism with landscape realism. Each picture is a complete landscape in of itself. This technique “superimposes and juxtaposes realistic and figurative” details within images he creates. Only upon closer scrutiny do you actually realize that each facet of the work is something else. In Metamorphic art flowers become faces. Mourners over coffins become the face of Christ, a bicycle becomes a pair of celebrity glasses. His works are full of symbolism. Each is endlessly fascinating, revealing something different to each new viewer. And each new viewer looks a second time, and a third. The longer a person stares at a painting, the more one sees. Faces come into focus at a distance and “metamorphose” into something entirely different under close observation. His works are included in major collections in Mexico, The national Palace, and in the private collections of the last three presidents. In Europe, the late Florence Gould had a landscape of the New York skyline from her apartment, at her house at Cap D’Antibes. HM, the king of Spain, is also an admirer of Ocampo’s work. Octavio is admired for his ingenuity and uniqueness from other modern artists. He is known mainly throughout the North American art scene. Aside from doing work on canvas, his works include murals in public buildings in Mexico and commissioned portraits of Jane Fonda, Cher, Cecar Chavez and Jimmy Carter. Octavio Ocampo’s talents are not just limited to oil painting, though it is his favorite medium. He also sculpts, acts and dances.
Ever wonderEver wonder how a person not known obtains critical information once unavailable to the public? Nowadays, the easy access of computers makes it almost impossible for citizens to completely be out of the risk of privacy invasion. Anything we do is being monitored discreetly or publicly by others. Yet, there are different ways in which this issue can be viewed. It is harmful in the way that we do not know exactly what is being monitored by others, nor the way it is being used. Privacy intrusion helps us by monitoring those who may be harmful to others. Privacy invasion can be viewed as both harmful, and yet helpful. One type of privacy invasion is the placement of surveillance cameras. Cameras are made so small today that one would have to stand less than a foot away to actually see the placement of the camera. In the article, "Nowhere to hide: Lack of Privacy Is the Ultimate Equalizer," Charles Platt states, "Right now, I can buy a KGB-surplus night scope, a microtransmitter, or a videocamera that's half the size of a pack of cigarettes" (344). We can hardly go anywhere without the possibility of a camera watching our every move. This is a good thing in the sense that it gives more security to public places. A thief will think twice about robbing a bank if there is a camera pointed directly at him. Prison riots will become obsolete since the video will tell all who started the riot.
EuthanasiaEuthanasia has become one of the most important issues societies have been debating about recently. The argument has risen very popular because it concerns the most important concept for people, life. People have been separated into two groups about the issue, one think that euthanasia is a human right and the other believe it is immoral. This essay will firstly answer a few basic contentions of euthanasia activists and then mention about some other important facts about euthanasia. The main assertions of euthanasia proponents are that people who are called terminally ill are forced to live and the governments (euthanasia is permitted only in the Netherlands and Oregon, Usa) make them suffer. In fact, people who are hooked up to machines to remain alive have the right to withdraw the medical treatment. Furthermore they can start in-home hospice care which directs all treatment to alleviate pain. This does not mean killing a patients by giving fatal injection or making them swallow overdose of drugs. And of course the governments do not permit euthansia in order to prevent abuse and protect people from unscruplous doctors.
ETHERNETDefiniton: Ethernet is a physical and data link layer technology for LAN networking. When it first began to be widely deployed in the 1980s, Ethernet supported a maximum theoretical data rate of 10 megabits per second (Mbps). More recently, Fast Ethernet standards have extended traditional Ethernet technology to 100 Mbps peak, and Gigabit Ethernet technology extends performance up to 1000 Mbps. Higher level network protocols like IP use Ethernet as their transmission medium. Data travels over Ethernet in the form of frames, and collisions can occur when multiple devices on the line attempt to transmit simultaneously. The run length of Ethernet cables is limited (to roughly 100 meters), but various special-purpose devices exist that make Ethernet a cost-effective option for networking an entire large school or office building.
ETERNITY“Eternity is a terrible thought, I mean, where’s it all going to end?” (Adams, Henry B, the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations 670). Is it not a stunning reality that every one thought about even once in his life? That is how my tough adventure with my word “eternity” started, because I was also wandering what eternity might be or what might be eternal. Through my research, I found myself in the middle of the infinite meaning hiding behind the word. The only definition that I knew before I started was “time lasting forever”; however, from source to source my knowledge expanded and I learned the other meanings of it. After so many searches, I gathered more than twenty sources. I took notes on them. I studied on them, thus I was ready to write this enormous paper. By writing this paper, I want to explain what I know about the word before and what changes after the research as ideas in my mind, to define the word by examples from my entries and finally to add my own opinions about eternity.
EsCHeR1-Who is Escher?M.C. Escher was a Dutch graphic artist, most recognized for spatial illusions, impossible buildings, repeating geometric patterns (tessellations), and his incredible techniques in woodcutting and lithography. M.C. Escher was born June 1898 and died March 1972. M.C.. He was a humble man who considered himself neither an artist or mathematician.Biography of Escher:Maurits Cornelius Escher was born on 17th June, 1898 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. His father was a civil engineer, and he realized at an early age that his son had a liking for art and drawing. This led him to decide to send Escher to study at the School of Architecture and Decorative Arts in Haarlem. However, Escher gave up arcitecture in favor of graphic arts at the age of 21. Escher spent a number of years travelling in Europe, while his interest in graphics grew. In 1921 he got married and lived in Rome, Italy. At the time, his works depicted landscapes using impossible perspectives. In the 1930s, Facism in Italy made life impossible for Escher and his family, so they moved to Switzerland. In 1936, Escher embarked on an important journey to the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The Moorish tilings he saw there fascinated him, and some time after his visit he read Pólya's 1924 paper on plane symmetry groups.Escher understood the 17 plane symmetry groups described in Pólya's paper, even though he didn't understand the abstract concept of the groups discussed in the paper. Between 1936 and 1942 Escher produced 43 colored drawings with a wide variety of symmetry types while working on possible periodic tilings.
English Conditionalshere are several structures in English that are called "Conditionals"."Condition" means "situation or circumstance". When a particular condition is true, then a particular result happens.• If x = 10 then 2x = 20 • If x = 3 then 2x = 6 There are three basic conditionals that we use very often. There are some more conditionals that we do not use so often. In this lesson, we will look first at the three basic conditionals:
Employee BenefitsEmployee Benefits Required by Law The legally required employee benefits constitute nearly a quarter of the benefits package that employers provide. These benefits include employer contributions to Social Security, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation insurance. Altogether such benefits represent about twenty-one and half percent of payroll costs. Social Security Social Security is the federally administered insurance system. Under current federal laws, both employer and employee must pay into the system, and a certain percentage of the employee’s salary is paid up to a maximum limit. Social Security is mandatory for employees and employers. The most noteworthy exceptions are state and local government employees. The Social Security Act was passed in 1935. It provides an insurance plan designed to indemnify covered individuals against loss of earnings resulting from various causes. This loss of earnings may result from retirement, unemployment, disability, or the case of dependents, the death of the person supporting them. Social Security does not pay off except in the case where a loss of income through loss of employment actually is incurred. In order to be eligible for old age and survivors insurance (OASI) as well as disability and unemployment insurance under the Social Security Act, an individual must have been engaged in employment covered by the Act. Most employment in private enterprise, most types of self-employment, active military service after 1956 and employment in certain nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies are subject to coverage under the Act.
Does world really needs to be global? They say globalization has helped reduce poverty in a large number of developing countries but it must be harnessed better to help the world’s poorest, most marginalized countries improve the lives of their citizens, according to the report Globalization, Growth and Poverty: Building an Inclusive World Economy by WTO . This is especially important in the wake of September 11 and the worldwide economic slowdown, which is expected to hit poor people particularly hard. Psychological Effects and Physiological Effects on Performance in temperature, noise and vibrationErgonomics became more important in the last century in developing machine design and work place with the aim of working in secure conditions, maximizing both performance of workers and machines, and also worker’s pleasure. Meister asked two of the most important question about the role of ergonomics in work place design which should be asked by an applied ergonomist in 1971 how does it affect the performance of operator the work place variables such as heat, acceleration, noise and what are the boundaries of environmental conditions in which the operator works?(p. 122). Ergonomists try to reduce the effects of environmental limitations on work success regarding psychology and physiology as main factors of improving operator performance and quality. The Ergonomics especially results in different useful applications in an industry on the main three factors that are really effective on performance; temperature, noise and vibration in psychological way and physiological way which is more powerful in comparison to psychological way.

PART 1A BRIEF OUTLINE OF ARMENIAN HISTORYhe Armenian race and the geography of their territory are subject to discussions. From the very beginning of their history, Armenians have always been subject to the rule of other states and served these states.Having been ruled by Meds, Persians, Seleucids and Romans for centuries in the history, Armenians lost their protectors against Sassanids when the Roman Empire was divided; by 386, a part of their territories was left to the Roman Empire, while the other part, including Erivan, was annexed by Sassanids.Afterwards, the Church began to exert a great influence over Armenians. When the rule of Arsakly dynasty was abolished by the pressure of the feodality and the religous elite in 429, Armenians who had been governed by the Sassanid governors, were totally submitted to Iranian rule in a short period. In the meantime Armenians were the cause of several wars between Iran and Byzantium and were frequently subject to religious pressures. As a result of the victories of Kadisiye (636) and Nihavend (640), the Islamic armies drove out the Iranians and settled in the Armenian territories. Unable to stop the Muslim tide, Armenians made an agreement with the Arabs. In this period, Armenians were governed by general governors. During the Abbasid period, Armenians stirred up several rebellions.
21ST CENTURY’S MAGIC 2000… This year was very far and exciting for us. Everybody in the world waited for 21st century and had many plans for the new century. The 21st century has already begun. Moreover 2002 has come. Things didn’t change exactly like old science fiction movies but I think in close future; things will change because of the role of the time… When I researched people’s opinion, I saw that people were more optimistic, rather than being pessimistic. However many people think that the Doomsday will happen as soon as possible. Once again this will be a technological century. Everything will be with computers. This is being occurred and developed since 1991. However, in the future everything will be done with computers. State register of people and population entries will be in computers. Computers will become smaller and mobile, because people want to reach information everywhere easily. In the close future very small, biological computers will be installed in our bodies and communicate our bio-chemical origin naturally.
