As the technology grew up the need of cheap and much energy increased rapidly as well. This situation lead scientists to try the nuclear power eventually. This is the most argued issue in today’s world that weather the usage of nuclear energy should be restricted by the governments. In spite of being cheap to install, nuclear power shouldn’t be used for several reasons such as it causes environmental pollution, not safe to use and the performance of reactors are unstable. Admittedly, nuclear power supporters claim that it is cheap to install a nuclear reactor compared with other alternatives. However as R. J. Pentreath states at his book Nuclear power, man, and the environment that , “fifty years after very large investments around the world it still provides under 6 per cent of the worlds primary energy and the cost of the electricity produced remains high”. As it is mentioned before in the active period of the reactor it does not produce the same amount of energy at different times. so the cheap installation looses its importance looking at these facts. The first objection to nuclear energy is,it can be said that it threats the environment. “All nuclear reactors produce nuclear wastes many of which are radioactive. they are the material results of the basic fission process.” states in his book Energy, society, and environment. He adds that some of these wastes do not loose its activity for 25000 years. It is possible to make them safe by burying. However 25000 years which is equal to 250 centuries is really a long time period that nobody can guarantee to keep these materials under control.
