| Açıklama | London Stock Exchange Activities : The London Stock Exchange plays a vital role in maintaining London’s position as one of the world’s leading financial centres. It is the UK’s major stock exchange, and one of the top three exchanges globally. The London Stock Exchange is also the world’s leading international exchange. More international companies are listed – and more international equities traded – on the London Stock Exchange than on any other exchange in the world. Capital Raising : The London Stock Exchange provides a portfolio of markets – allowing companies large and small to raise capital and have their shares more publicly traded. Trading Services : The Exchange provides comprehensive trading and information services – collating and disseminating market infromation on a wide range of information services. Trading information and system are continually developed, and in October 1997, the Exchange plans to implement a new Stock Exchange Trading Service (SETS) to facilitate order – driven trading, initially in FTSE 100 equities. Regulation : The London Stock Echange regulates both capital raising and trading markets, assessing applications of companies wishing to join the main market (Official List), monitoring listed companies ongoing com-pliance with the rules, and dealing with any rule breaches. It is also responsible for supervising the conduct of the 300 member firms that deal on its markets. Eurobonds and Warrants : In recent years, the Exchange has increased its market share of world eurobond listing (specialist dept securities). Specialist dept securities (including warrants) are normally bought and traded by a limited number of investors who are particularly knowledgeable in investment matters. They are ussally issued through selective marketing to certain financial institutions and underwritten by an international syndicate of banks.
