| Açıklama | BRAINDRAIN BRAINDRAIN ITS MOST IMPORTANT REASONS: The immigration of well-educated people, in other words brain drain, is a serious problem for most of the countries. There are many causes of this problem ; but low investment in science, the difficulty of adapting to the hierarchical structure and the lack of opportunities of working in their own fields are the ones which directly contribute to the brain drain among the young researchers. Probably, the most important cause of the brain drain among the researchers is the low level of investment of the governments in science: generally, the amount that the governments spend for the scientific researches from their budgets is far below the amount that they should spend. This insufficiency shows itself with the scarcity of the number of the researches. This also reflects to the payment of the researchers, especially to that of the young ones. Another important reason is the hierarchical structure in some of the countries. Many scientists find it hard to adapt to this hierarchical structure and this results in the brain drain among them. The researchers have to deal with the obstacles of the bureaucracy. And generally it takes a really long time. The other factor related to the hierarchical structure is the necessity of getting on well with the people hierarchically above them. That often means garnering support from a single research director who can make or break a young scientist’s career. Perhaps most galling to young researchers is what many describe as an anachronistic system of distributing jobs in research. Many of them say that the advancement system has more to do with cronyism than quality. The differences generally come noticeable when they go to some other countries.
